The journey from the Theekoy Valley to Vagamon is an unforgettable experience as
the mountain road zig zags uphill with steep, cloud touching hills on one side and deep trenches which converge in the dark green valleys below on the other side.
Both sides of the road are fringed with flowers of myriad colours and shapes and an occasional silvery waterfall cascades girdling down the mountains.
Thekkady - we arrange day trips to Thekkady which is only 65kms away from Vagamon which includes a boat ride in the famous Vandi Periyar lake.
Kurushumala, Murugan mala, Thangal Paara - are religious spot for Christians, Hindus and Muslims respectively.

Thangakanam Estate- 3kms away from our property offers our guests horse riding, a jungle walk, a boat ride in their man made lake, mountain cycling and fishing.
Meenachil River - made famous by Arundhati Roy in her masterpiece "God Of Small Things," originates from these mountains.
Illikal Peak - is the origin of the River Meenachil and is a mythological site. Local belief has it that a bird brings the mythical herb atop this mountain to whosoever seeks eternal life! A climb to the top is a rewarding experience to trekkers as well as to those who wish to see the origin of one of Kerala's life giving rivers.
Maramala Waterfalls - a scenic stream and its breathtaking waterfalls are together referred to as "Enchantress of the Jungle" in the local lore. Sliding down the numerous hillocks, this gushing water has etched out over the years a deep natural pond amongst the rocks.
Poonjar Palace - This palace is a glorious testimony to the regal opulence of a bygone era. The present day Munnar was a small principality under these rajahs till they were given out on lease to the British tea companies two centuries ago.
Ayyampara - is a 30- acre rock formation is a favourite haunt for those who wish to see some spectacular sunsets. Other places of interest- Eravikulam National Park, Peermedu,Kurisumala Farm, Kolahalamedu, Thommankuthu, Kuttikkanam,Tourists can also visit the arch dam at Idukki, the Cheruthoni dam and Kulamaavu dam.Tours to tea and cardamom estates can also be arranged on request.
